The Best and Worst Print on Demand Ornaments to Sell and Make Money Online: Honest Printify Review!

If you sell on Etsy, you already know Q4 is pure chaos wrapped in a glittery bow. It’s basically Etsy’s Super Bowl and if you’re in the print on demand game, ornaments are your MVP. They’re cute, customizable, and shoppers can’t get enough once the holiday madness hits. There are print on demand shops on Etsy that just sell ornaments and are bringing in OVER A MILLION dollars in sales a year!!!

But here’s the catch, not every ornament is a winner and I had to learn this lesson the hard way! There are SO many different types of Print on Demand ornaments and some are great… while others… well not so much!

I ordered eight different ornaments from Printify including acrylic, metal, ceramic, and wood. I tested every single one, yes even the ones that looked a little suspicious, because I wanted to see which ones actually hold up once those holiday orders start flying in.

Some blew me away, a few were just okay, and a couple were straight up so bad that they WLL NOT BE invited back to the party.

So if you’ve been wondering which ornaments deserve a spot in your shop, which ones print like a dream, and which ones are total flops, I’ve got the tea. Grab a coffee (or wine no judgement here), settle in, and let’s talk about the good, the bad, and the what-on-earth-happened-here moments from this year’s Printify ornament lineup.

Now that we’re all warmed up, it’s time to spill the tea on these ornaments.

1. Acrylic Idea Factory- Acrylic Ornament with Ribbon

This one had me smiling from the minute I opened it. The print came out crisp and vibrant, and being able to print on both sides is a total game-changer. I even tested a not-so-great photo on the back just to see what would happen, and it printed perfectly. The weight feels just right, not heavy, not flimsy, and it arrived pre-strung and bubble-wrapped like a pro. The detail was sharp, nothing blurred, and honestly, it just looked expensive. My only gripe is that the smaller size runs a little tiny, but that’s me being picky.

Verdict: One of my absolute favorites and staying in my shop for sure. Rating: 9/10

2. WOYC-Wooden Ornament

These wooden beauties give off the PERFECT rustic vibe. They are HUGE, come in fun designs, and I love that you can print on both sides and choose from multiple shapes. My PNG design popped beautifully, though photo prints looked a little soft because of the wood texture. Still, the print quality was impressive. The packaging was solid, wrapped tight with bubble wrap, and it even came with two string options of either twine or ribbon. If you’re selling illustrated or text-based designs, this is a winner. Just maybe skip it for photo ornaments.

Verdict: Great for designs, budget-friendly, and just overall very nice. Rating: 8/10

3. Printed Simply – Ceramic Ornaments (Two-Sided Print)

This one showed up in its own little box, which immediately scored points because none of the others were delivered in a box. The print itself came out darker than the design, so I’d suggest lightening your artwork before uploading. The finish has that soft airbrushed look that mutes fine details, but the ornament feels nice and heavy. Otherwise, it’s a solid mid-range option.

Verdict:‍ Good overall but defintely better options out there Rating: 7.5/10

4. Imagine Your Photos – Ceramic Ornament (Four Shapes)

Okay, so the shipping here didn’t wow me because it took a while and the packaging felt a bit flimsy. But once I got it unwrapped, the ornament itself was sturdy and thick with great print quality. I love the fun variety of shapes, and the print picked up on detail nicely. The string is a little lightweight, but it’s not pre-tied, so customers can adjust how they want it displayed. Personally, I’d recommend this one for bulk or group orders rather than sentimental or personalized gifts.

Verdict: Reliable print, slower shipping, great for variety packs. Rating: 9/10

5. SwiftPOD – Ceramic Decoration Ornament (1 Piece)

SwiftPOD never disappoints. The print quality is consistently clean and detailed, and the shipping speed is lightning fast. I had this one in hand within four days! The matte finish gives it a modern vibe, and even though the packaging and ribbon weren’t my favorites, the actual ornament quality makes up for it. This hand down was the BEST ceramic ornament option for a reason.

Verdict: Fast, reliable, and great print results. Rating: 9/10

6. Pic the Gift – Metal Ornament

This one completely caught me off guard in the best way possible. The print quality was stunning! Bright, crisp, and it even picked up the texture in my design perfectly. It’s bigger than most ornaments, super sleek, and while it’s thinner than ceramic, it still feels luxe. It came packaged well, wrapped in thick bubble wrap that’ll hold up during the holiday rush.

Verdict: Total standout. One of the best print-on-demand ornaments across the board. Rating: 9/10

7. Printed Mint – Acrylic Ornament

This one was a letdown, which shocked me because I usually love Printed Mint. I’ve ordered plenty of other products from them with great results, but these ornaments missed the mark. The packaging was solid and had thick bubble wrap and individually wrapped ribbons, but the print was fuzzy, grainy, and overall just not the quality I expected. This one just wasn’t it!

Verdict: Disappointing quality. Wouldn’t recommend listing it. Rating: Not Recommended

8. Printed Mint – Glass Ornament

I wanted to love this one so badly. A glass ornament just sounds fancy, right? But the print came out streaky, faded, and blurry. A few elements didn’t print at all, and the color looked washed out. The ornament itself feels thick and substantial, but the print ruins it. If I got this as a customer, I’d be pretty disappointed, especially since glass ornaments are usually priced higher.

Verdict: Beautiful idea, poor execution. Hard pass for my shop. Rating: Not Recommended
