The Top 10 Unsaturated Print on Demand Products to Sell in 2027 (That Aren't T-Shirts)

So you've decided to start a print on demand business. Maybe you already opened your Etsy shop, uploaded a few t-shirt designs, and sat back waiting for the sales to roll in. And then... crickets. πŸ¦—

Girl, I have been there. And I want to tell you something nobody told me when I started: your designs probably aren't the problem. Your product is.

Why Selling T-Shirts Can Hold Your Shop Back

When most people think of print on demand, they think t-shirts. That's exactly why it's so hard to sell them. One Etsy keyword tool estimates there are over 10 million Etsy listings competing for the search "t shirt." Ten MILLION. When you're a brand new shop with zero reviews, you're trying to get noticed in a crowd the size of a stadium, Etsy has no reason to show your listing over a shop that's been selling for years. It is SO hard to stand out in a sea of competition.

Now compare that to a product where buyers are searching, but only a handful of sellers are showing up. That's what an unsaturated product is: real demand, less competition. That's where new sellers can actually get seen, get their first sales, and start building reviews!!

That's how I built my business and I want the same for you! So I am going to give you the list of the top 10 unsaturated products you can be adding to your shop to actually make sales in 2027!

But before I dive in let me introduce myself!

Hey there! I’m Shay Lynn

I'm a former educator turned online business owner, and I built my print on demand Etsy business completely from scratch.

I had no audience. No Etsy experience. No clue what I was doing.

Since then, I've turned it into a full-time 7 figure business, and I've taught nearly 9,000 students inside The Print on Demand Playbook how to build their own shops, too.

I love print on demand and want the same for you!

How I Picked These Products

Now that we have gotten the pleasantries out of the way, let me me tell you about these products. Every product on this list checks three boxes:

  1. People are already searching for it (or the trend behind it is growing fast).

  2. Very few print on demand sellers are offering it yet.

  3. It can be personalized, which is the number one way to stand out and charge more.

So with all this in mind, here are 10 Printify products I'd add to your shop right now as we head into 2027. Save this post so you can come back to it, and thank me later. Let's go! πŸ‘‡

1. Mahjong Mats

We're starting off STRONG. If you haven't noticed, mahjong is having a MAJOR moment right now. Yelp named it one of its top trends, reporting that searches for mahjong clubs jumped about 4,467% year over year and searches for mahjong lessons rose 819%. What used to be your grandma's Tuesday night game is now packed with millennial and Gen Z women hosting game nights with their girlfriends.

And the merch is following the players. Mahjong apparel, totes, and tile bags are all trending on Etsy right now. But here's the thing: the mat is the one item every single player needs, and Printify just added them to the catalog. That means very few print on demand sellers have caught on yet.

Why I love this product:

  • It fits ANY style. Mahjong players love showing off their personality at the table, so you can design for any aesthetic: preppy, coastal, vintage floral, boho, colorful, glam, you name it.

  • It's personalizable. Add the group's club name, the hostess's name, or a monogram, and you've got a gift nobody else is selling.

  • It's a group purchase. When one person in the group buys one, the rest of the table sees it. That's free marketing, honey.

Niches to try: gifts for her, hostess gifts, home decor, game night, girls' night gifts, and the gaming niche. Think "Mahjong Club" designs, personalized group names, "Mahj Mama," and soft vintage patterns.

2. Satin Bridal Robes

Robes have been a top seller in the wedding world for years, and the numbers back it up. In Zola's 2026 Registry and Gifting Survey, 62% of couples who gave wedding party gifts chose personalized accessories like bags and robes. That was the number one gift category. And most couples spent $25 to $99 per person on those gifts, so there's real money on the table.

Why robes? Because they get worn during the getting-ready photos, one of the most photographed moments of the entire wedding day. Every bride wants her whole crew in matching robes for those pictures, and she's not buying just one. She's buying 6, 8, even 10 at a time. One order can be a whole bridal party!

Why I love this product:

  • Multi-item orders. Bridal parties mean bigger order values for you.

  • Personalization is expected. Names, titles like "Maid of Honor" and "Mother of the Bride," and wedding dates on the back are exactly what brides search for.

  • Satin feels luxe. It looks expensive in photos, which makes it easy to price well.

Niches to try: bridesmaid proposals, bridal party gifts, bachelorette weekends, personalized wedding gifts, and "getting ready" robes for the bride.

3. Stadium Seats

Hear me out on this one. Sports parents spend HOURS on hard metal bleachers, and they will spend just about anything to support their kid. According to the Aspen Institute, families now spend more than $40 billion a year on youth sports, and spending on a child's main sport has gone up 46% since 2019.

That's a huge, passionate audience that loves to rep their kid's team, and very few print on demand sellers are offering stadium seats yet.

Why I love this product:

  • Built-in pride. Team names, jersey numbers, mascots, and "#1 Fan" designs practically sell themselves.

  • Multiple seasons. Baseball in spring, football and soccer in fall, basketball in winter. There's a season for every sport.

  • Perfect for grandparents. Grandma and Grandpa are at every game, and they LOVE a personalized gift.

Niches to try: gifts for baseball moms, soccer moms, football moms, gifts for grandma, end of season team gifts, and coach gifts.

4. Rubber Doormats

This one is going to POP OFF. Doormats have been selling really well for a long time. Personalized doormats are a go-to gift, and market researchers expect the doormat market to keep growing about 5% a year, with demand for personalized home decor leading the way.

But here's the problem from a print on demand standpoint: traditional doormats have been super expensive to produce, so our profit margins were honestly not great. You'd make a sale and barely make any money.

That's why these rubber doormats have me so excited. They have excellent profit margins, and they're more durable than the common doormat, so they hold up to rain, snow, and muddy boots without falling apart.

Why I love this product:

  • Better margins. Finally, a doormat where you actually make good money on every sale.

  • Seasonal AND evergreen. Family name mats sell all year, and seasonal designs (fall, Christmas, spring, Fourth of July) bring buyers back again and again. That's repeat sales, baby!

  • Easy to personalize. Family names, established dates, and house numbers make it the perfect housewarming gift.

Niches to try: personalized family name gifts, housewarming gifts, new homeowner gifts, wedding gifts, realtor closing gifts, and seasonal decor.

5. Shoelace Tags

You might think I'm crazy for this one, but stay with me. Running is booming right now. Global road race finishers jumped 17% in 2024, and the 2025 New York City Marathon became the largest marathon in history with 59,226 finishers. Runners love to celebrate their miles, and shoelace tags already sell really well to marathon runners.

But the real opportunity is thinking BEYOND running. A shoelace tag is a small, sentimental keepsake that can be worn on any pair of shoes.

Why I love this product:

  • Low price point, high gift appeal. It's an easy add-on buy and a great stocking stuffer.

  • Tons of milestones. First 5K, first half marathon, race dates, and personal records.

  • Wedding potential. A "Father of the Bride" tag with the wedding date is the sweetest keepsake, and almost nobody is selling it.

Niches to try: marathon and race gifts, running milestones, father of the bride gifts, memorial keepsakes, sports team gifts, and graduation gifts.

6. Peel and Stick Wallpaper

Peel and stick wallpaper has absolutely exploded. One wallpaper company reported that Google searches for peel and stick wallpaper are up more than 2,000% over the last 10 years, and one market report estimates it now makes up about 31% of new residential wallpaper installations.

Why? Renters want a pretty home without losing their security deposit, and DIYers want a big change without hiring a pro. Peel and stick gives them both.

Why I love this product:

  • Higher price point. Wallpaper sells by the panel or roll, so your order values are bigger than a mug or a shirt.

  • Designs are YOUR playground. If you love making patterns, this is where they shine.

  • Aesthetic buyers. People shopping for wallpaper are building a whole look, and they'll pay for the right print.

Niches to try: nursery decor, kids' bedrooms, cottagecore, vintage florals, accent walls, renter-friendly decor, and bathroom makeovers.

7. Custom Shaped Acrylic Keychains

I sell a TON of keychains in my shop, so trust me when I say the price point on these is crazy good. That means healthy profit for you.

Personalized gifts are big business. One market report valued the personalized gifts market at about $31.4 billion in 2025, and expects it to reach around $52.9 billion by 2035. Photo gifts are a big part of that, because nothing says "I thought about you" like a gift with someone's face (or their dog's face!) on it.

The custom shape is what makes these special. Instead of a plain rectangle, the keychain is cut to the shape of the photo or design, so it looks custom-made.

Why I love this product:

  • Great margins. A low production cost means more money in your pocket.

  • Impulse buy price. Easy for buyers to say yes, and easy to buy more than one.

  • Photo uploads. Buyers send a photo and get a one of a kind gift.

Niches to try: personalized picture gifts, anniversary gifts, pet photo keychains, memorial gifts, stocking stuffers, and best friend gifts.

8. Pet Raglan Shirts

People are freaking BANANAS about their pets. Americans spent $158 billion on their pets in 2025, according to the American Pet Products Association, and 95 million U.S. households own at least one pet. That is a HUGE audience.

Pet bandanas are everywhere on Etsy, but pet raglan shirts are such a fun alternative, and way fewer sellers are making them. The two-tone raglan look is super cute in photos, which is exactly what pet parents want.

Why I love this product:

  • Matching sets. Pair it with a matching human shirt and you've doubled your order.

  • Holidays all year. Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Fourth of July, Halloween, Christmas... pets get dressed up for all of them.

  • Personalization. Pet names, birthdays, and "Big Brother" or "Big Sister" announcements.

Niches to try: matching owner and pet sets, pet birthday shirts, pregnancy and baby announcements, holiday outfits, and dog mom gifts.

9. Pet Hoodies With a Collar Hole

I think these are SO stinking cute. And with that same massive pet audience, these are a no-brainer to add right next to your raglan shirts.

The collar hole is the game changer. Pet parents can clip on a leash without taking the hoodie off, which makes it practical for walks, not just photos. Practical AND cute is the sweet spot.

Why I love this product:

  • Cold weather seller. Hoodies are perfect for fall and winter, right when gift shopping peaks.

  • Practical design. The leash hole solves a real problem, and buyers notice that in reviews.

  • Easy to cross-sell. Link it in your pet raglan listings and let buyers grab both.

Niches to try: pet lovers, cold weather pet gear, personalized pet names, dog mom gifts, cat dad gifts, and breed-specific designs.

10. Aprons With Pocket Pouches

Last but not least, I absolutely LOVE this one. Home baking is still going strong, and sourdough especially has become a whole lifestyle. Market researchers estimate the sourdough market at about $3.25 billion in 2025, growing over 6% a year, and interest tends to spike every January when people pick up new hobbies.

Everybody has a baker, crafter, or grandma in their life, and a personalized apron is a gift they'll actually use. The pocket pouch makes it extra practical for holding a phone, recipe cards, or tools.

Why I love this product:

  • A gift for every season. Mother's Day, Christmas, birthdays, and bridal showers.

  • Super personal. "Grandma's Kitchen," "Sourdough Mama," and family recipe designs are just begging to be made.

  • Not just for cooks. Crafters, gardeners, teachers, and small business owners wear aprons too.

Niches to try: gifts for sourdough bakers, gifts for grandma, personalized cooking gifts, crafters, gardeners, and Mother's Day gifts.

The Bottom Line

Here's the truth about print on demand in 2027: the sellers who are going to win aren't the ones with the most listings. They're the ones who get in early on products people want, before everybody else catches on.

Mahjong mats, satin bridal robes, stadium seats, rubber doormats, shoelace tags, peel and stick wallpaper, custom acrylic keychains, pet raglans, pet hoodies, and pocket aprons all have one thing in common. Buyers are already looking for them, and most shops haven't shown up yet. That gap is your opportunity.

And remember, you don't have to add all 10 at once. Start with the two or three that fit a niche you already love, make them personal, and build from there. One great product in an unsaturated market will do more for your shop than 50 t-shirts lost in a sea of 10 million listings.

The window on these won't stay open forever. Trends move fast, and a year from now some of these products will be crowded. So the best time to start is right now.

Ready to Actually Build Your Print on Demand Business?

Okay, so now you have 10 unsaturated products, a whole list of niches, and hopefully a MUCH better idea of why picking the right product matters more than having the most listings. No more uploading t-shirts into a sea of 10 million and praying one sells. πŸ˜‚

But if you're sitting there thinking... "Okay Shay... I love these products, but how do I actually turn them into SALES?"

I get it. I was there too.

When I started, I didn't know how to pick a niche, how to make a design that actually sells, how Etsy SEO worked, or how to price anything so I made a profit. I spent so much time guessing, and I made every mistake you can think of.

When I finally figured out the system, picking unsaturated products, designing for a specific buyer, and getting found in Etsy search, everything changed. That system is how I built a seven figure print on demand business. And I want that for you too!

That's exactly why I created The Print on Demand Playbook.

As a former educator, teaching is what I know how to do. So instead of assuming you already know this industry, I walk you through it from the very beginning. From "I literally know nothing about print on demand" all the way through setting up your shop, finding products and niches like the ones in this post, creating designs and mockups, understanding Etsy SEO, pricing for profit, writing listings, AND working toward those first sales.

Basically, it's the resource I wish someone had handed ME when I was starting out.

Nearly 9,000 students have gone through it now, which is still pretty freaking cool to me. ❀️ And if you're ready to take this list and actually do something with it, I'd love for you to be next.

And if you don't have a Printify account yet, you can sign up here for free.
