Mother’s Day 2026: Print on Demand Trends and Products That Are Actually Selling on Etsy
Well hey there, Rockstar!
Can you believe Mother's Day is almost here AGAIN?! It seriously sneaks up on us every single year and before you know it, it's May and you're scrambling. So let's get ahead of it RIGHT NOW because trust me when I say this
“The sellers who prep early are the ones cashing in big while everyone else is playing catch up.”
As a top 1% Etsy seller and multi-six figure Print on Demand business owner, Q2 (April, May, and June) is hands down my favorite time of year. May alone is consistently my highest revenue month, and Mother's Day is the reason why. I'm talking six figure sales in April, May, and June alone. So yeah, I take this holiday VERY seriously.
Now, I've already talked about the classic Mother's Day products before, mugs, blankets, tote bags, the whole nine yards. But today I want to talk about what's trending RIGHT NOW in 2026 and the fresh angles that are going to help you stand out in a more competitive Etsy marketplace. Because what worked two years ago might not work today, and I've got you covered!
Before we kick this off, let me say “heyyyy girl heyyyy” real quick!
Hey there! I’m Shay Lynn
I am a top 1% Etsy Seller, am the proud owner of a multi-six figure Print on Demand & Etsy Business, a six-figure Shopify Business, and creator of the Print on Demand Playbook. In my first year selling, I did $250,000 in sales running my very own Print on Demand and Etsy business. I am now a 7 figure seller and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE what I do and want to help others achieve financial freedom and find success with their own Print on Demand Business Ventures!
Now that we have our pleasantries out of the way, lets get into the meat and potatoes of this thing!
What's Different About Mother's Day 2026?
Here's the tea: Etsy buyers have gotten smarter and more specific. They're not just typing "gift for mom" anymore. They're searching for hyper-specific, deeply personal gifts that feel like they were made just for their mom. That means the more niche you go, the more you win.
Also (and this is BIG) aesthetic trends have shifted. We've moved away from the farmhouse vibes and into coastal grandmother, whimsical and hand drawn cursive, embroidery, cottagecore, and retro groovy aesthetics. Your designs need to reflect where buyers are RIGHT NOW, not where they were in 2020 or 2016.
So let’s break everything down so you can tap into current trends!
STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1) Aesthetic-Forward Apparel: Beyond "Best Mom Ever"
As a mom myself, of course I love a good "Best Mom Ever" design as much as the next person, but honey… that space is SATURATED to the max. What's working RIGHT NOW is apparel that leans into current aesthetics with a mama twist.
This year you want to target who the Mom you are trying to sell to is and blend in current design trends that are selling well. Is she a soccer mom? A mom who likes to garden? Bake sourdough bread? Think of her interest and create products around the specific person rather than just generic “best mom ever” products.
Two design trends that are doing very well in this niche are: coastal grandmother hand drawn designs and retro groovy with an elevate twist. For coastal grandmother with hand drawn vibes, you want to think linen-texture background mockups, soft sage greens, dusty blues, or blue jean comfort color mockups, and warm creams with delicate hand drawn fonts like “homemade apple” on Canva and whimsical hand drawn elements in Canva as well. Phrases like "Raising My Littles by the Sea" or "Salt Air & Mama Hair" for the beach-loving mom crowd. Or go retro groovy with bold 70s-inspired fonts, earthy mustards, burnt oranges, and terracotta tones. The key here is pairing a timeless sentiment with a fresh, current design aesthetic.
That combo is pure Etsy gold right now.
Products to focus on: Sweatshirts, oversized tees, baseball hats, bucket hats
2. The "Era" Trend is Going Strong for Moms
If you haven't tapped into the "era" trend for Mother's Day well then girl, what are you waiting for?! This trend has incredible staying power because it's endlessly customizable and can be personalized. As we move into 2026 and beyond, personalization is the future for Etsy product and Print on Demand product sales. So you need to tap into the specific mom you are trying to sell to.
Think "Currently in My Dog Mom Era," "Proudly in My Boy Mom Era," "Entering My Girl Mom Era," or "Officially in My Grandma Era." You can niche this down in SO many directions and use SEO keywords like: new mom gift, gift for grandma, pregnancy announcement, bonus mom gift, mother in law gift, you name it.
The beauty of this trend is that it's personality-driven, which means buyers feel seen and represented. And when a buyer feels like a product was made for THEM specifically, they buy. Every. Time. Because of the emotional drive the product carries with it!
Products to focus on: Tumblers, embroidered sweatshirts, tote bags, phone cases, mugs
3. Personalized Print on Demand Jewelry: The 2026 Glow-Up
Okay… if you’ve been in POD for a while, you know print-on-demand jewelry used to be… wellllll not so great 😅
But at the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026, they FINALLY upgraded it. And now? It’s actually stunning. Like real, gift-worthy, emotional, luxury-feeling pieces that people are excited to buy (especially for things like Mother’s Day).
What’s really taking off right now are:
Zodiac-inspired pieces (with names or just the sign)
Initial + birth flower combinations
Birth month–inspired designs tied to family or kids
And the best part is you can easily expand these designs beyond jewelry. The same concepts work beautifully on things like phone cases, tote bags, and journals so that you can create a full, cohesive product line in your shop.
We’re also starting to see jewelry-adjacent products like personalized jewelry cases trending, which makes this category even stronger.
Bottom line: personalized jewelry feels meaningful, elevated, and giftable and buyers are absolutely here for it right now.
4. Grandma is Having Her MOMENT
I say this every year and I'll keep saying it: don't sleep on grandma gifts! The "Grandma" niche is consistently underserved relative to how much people are searching for it, which means less competition and more visibility for your listings. And trust me when I say this, gifts for grandma can be equally as lucrative as just gifts for mom for Mother’s Day.
What's trending specifically right now for Grandma:
"Promoted to Grandma [Year]" : always a bestseller, especially for new grandmas
"Grandma's Garden" themed products : floral, botanical, cottagecore vibes
Personalized "Grandkid Name" products: tumblers, blankets, ornaments with each grandchild's name. (this also works with pictures too!)
The trick here is to think about WHO is buying for grandma. It's usually adult children or grandkids, and they want something that feels personal and special, not generic.
Products to focus on: Blankets, tumblers, garden flags, mugs, tote bags, journals
5. The "Invisible Load" Mom Trend
This is a newer trend that's resonating DEEPLY with modern moms right now and I am HERE for it. Products that acknowledge the invisible work of motherhood like the mental load, the scheduling, the emotional labor are connecting with buyers in a powerful way.
Think designs like:
"I Can’t. My Kids have Practice, A Game, or Something"
“I Don’t Know. Put it on My Husband’s tab”
"CEO of Snacks, Schedules & Emotional Support"
"Mentally I'm Everywhere (Because I Have To Be)"
"Silently Keeping Everything Together Since [Year]"
These feel relatable, funny, and a little bit "finally someone SAID it" which makes them incredibly shareable and giftable. Daughters buying for their moms especially love these.
Products to focus on: Tumblers, wine glasses, tote bags, sweatshirts, mugs, and hats

Bonus: How to Maximize Your Mother's Day Sales This Year
You already know I'm going to say this, and if you don’t you need to hear this, but get your listings up NOW. Seriously. Shoppers are already browsing and Etsy needs time to index your listings. Every day you wait is a day your listing isn't showing up in search.
A few more tips to maximize this season:
Use long-tail keywords in your listings. Don't just use "Mother's Day gift" over and over and over again, use phrases like "funny gift for new mom," "personalized tumbler for grandma," or "groovy mama sweatshirt." The more specific, the better your visibility. This will also allow you to make sales past Mother’s Day as well.
Price for perceived value. A personalized, aesthetically on-trend product can and should command a higher price point. Don't race to the bottom! Price midrange and use quality mockups and listings slides to really sell your product. People buy with their eyes so make sure your listings slides are on point because they are your sales pitch to the world.
Final Thoughts
Phew! Okay, that was a LOT but I hope it gets your creative wheels spinning for Mother's Day 2026! Remember… the early bird gets the worm (and the sales), so don't wait to get these listings up!
