The Best Print on Demand Products and Niches to Sell for Summer 2025
Hey there fellow designer!
Summer’s officially clocked in—and while the sun’s heating up, Etsy shops? Not so much. Welcome to what we in the Print on Demand world call the “summer slowdown.” Yep, people are busy sipping margaritas, road-tripping, and forgetting their carts. Customers are out enjoying the weather and not really geared towards shopping.
But here’s the thing: this dip? It’s not a complete dead end—it’s actually a golden opportunity. Because smart sellers (like you babes) can absolutely cash in by designing for the season we’re actually in and whats to come. Summer-specific products, evergreen designs, and traffic-driving listings can keep those sales rolling while everyone else is snoozing on the beach. Let's make it your most strategic season yet.
In this post, I’ll be covering the exact products and niches that I sell in my shop to combat the “summer slowdown” to make $60,000 during the summer months. Check it out 👇👇👇👇
Hi there! I’m Shay Lynn
If you had told me that a few years ago when I was pregnant that I would be running my own multi 6 figure print on demand buisness, I would have outright laughed in your face! And then would have asked, “What the heck is Print on Demand?”
I’m a proud Mom, Etsy shop owner, Print on Demand business owner, and POD educator. I help women (and Mom’s like myself) start their own Print on Demand businesses and gain financial freedom so they can ditch their 9 to 5 grinds! Check out my course and blog to learn more!
Now that you know a little about me, let’s dive right in and get into the meat and potatoes of this post!
Top 4 Niches and Products for Summer 2025
1) PATRIOTIC GIFTS – Stars, Stripes, and SALES, Baby! 🇺🇸
Summer isn’t just for sunshine and sangria (that’s what my summer is all about lol)—it’s for backyard BBQs, sparkler selfies, and allllll the red, white, and blue americana you can handle! Which means it’s also prime time to rake in some serious cash with patriotic Print on Demand products.
From 4th of July blowouts to military retirements, basic backyard hangs to family reunions, people are on the hunt for all things bold, American, and totally giftable.
1)What to Design:
Cousin Crew shirts
Family reunion tees
Veteran appreciation gifts
Military retirement gifts
Military graduation gifts
“Proud to be an American” everything
Americana-themed decor and keepsakes
🎯 Top-Selling Products That’ll Light Up Your Listings:
Outdoor Decor: Doormats, Garden flags + yard signs
Metal signs for garages, RVs, and man caves
Wine glasses, beer mugs, & tumblers for backyard chillin’
Cozy blankets for firework snuggles
Group apparel for parades, BBQs, lake trips—you name it!
✨ Here are some PRO-TIP niches to explore in this niche:
Get bold with passion-fueled niches. Think:
Republican gifts
Democratic gifts
Women’s empowerment gear
Now here’s the deal:
Etsy doesn’t care who you vote for. They care if it sells. So if your designs spark emotion and speak to someone’s identity, cha-ching—you’re in business.
This isn’t about your personal political beliefs. It’s about business and business only. And passionate people spend big when they feel seen. So if you’re bold enough to step into this space, do it with intention and quality designs so you can tap into this PASSIONATE niche.
2) WEDDINGS – One of the Hottest Summer Niches! 💍🥂
If you’re not designing for the wedding niche, you’re leaving serious money on the table. Summer is prime time for lovebirds tying the knot, which means cha-ching for your Etsy shop.
Yes, weddings are technically evergreen (people get married year-round), but summer is when things go full glam, full group trip, and full-on gift mode. It’s not just about the bride and groom—it’s about the entire wedding crew, the bachelorette blowout, the honeymoon vibes, the pre-wedding brunch, the post-wedding wine nights… you get it.
Here’s where you come in:
People are hungry for unique, thoughtful, custom wedding products, and they’re not just buying physical goods—they’re snapping up digital products too.
1) Digital Wedding Products to Add to Your Shop:
Editable wedding invitations
Bachelorette party itineraries
Save-the-dates
Seating charts
Welcome signs
Table number cards
Wedding website templates
Bridal shower games
Thank-you card templates
Honeymoon itinerary printables
2) POD Physical Products That Sell Like Wildfire:
Apparel: Bachelorette tees, bride hoodies, “Groom’s Crew” gifts, wifey and hubby honeymoon ‘fits, matching robes “Mr. and Mrs.” anything.
Drinkware: Champagne flutes, wine glasses, custom tumblers, beer mugs, coozies for the bachelor/bachelorette weekend, or pint glasses engraved with the wedding date.
Home Decor: Personalized doormats (Mr. & Mrs.), honeymoon towels (again think Mr. and Mrs.), throw blankets, cutting boards with the couple’s name, and photo keepsakes.
Accessories: Tote bags, makeup bags, travel pouches, passport holders, hats, “Bride” sashes, slippers, or even sleep masks.
Group Gifts: “Bridesmaid proposal” kits and anyone in the bridal/grooms party, gifts for the mother of the bride, flower girl, or ring bearer, and matching family gear for destination weddings. Don’t just think about the bride and groom, think about ALL the people involved in the party!
💡 Extra-Niche ideas that I have designed for that work:
Rustic weddings
Beach weddings
Boho/elopement themes
LGBTQ+ weddings
Minimalist weddings
Tea Party Theme
Pro Tip: Wedding shoppers are willing to pay for sentiment, personalization, and speed. If you can nail those three things—you’ll become their go-to vendor for everything. This niche is ridiculously profitable so definitely be sure to tap into this!
3) BACK TO SCHOOL 🎒💥
School's out for summer... but if you want those cha-chings to start flowing, you better start prepping now for one of the BIGGEST shopping seasons in Print on Demand: Back to School.
While the kids are out of school and moms are sipping iced coffees just trying to survive summer break (lol), shoppers will start gearing up and eyeing back to school products in June and July, and start making purchases in Mid July to August. So get ahead of it—because this niche is PACKED with opportunity.
1) It’s Not Just for Teachers…
When designing don’t think just “teacher gifts” you want to dive into narrow niches and get specific. So let me give you some great examples to help expand your mindset a bit. Think:
Daycare & preschool staff
Dance, music, art, and PE teachers
People working at a school like: School counselors and principals
First-time students (kindergarten, middle, high school and even college!)
College freshmen (and their parents who want to spoil them)
Students moving into their first apartment
Dorm life essentials for the “aesthetic queen” college student
2) Digital Products to Cash In On:
Editable classroom decor kits (bulletin boards, welcome signs, calendars)
First day of school signs & milestone cards
Dorm wall art (think trendy quotes, boho vibes, neon signs)
Classroom behavior and emotional charts
3) Physical Products That Sell Year after Year:
Backpacks, lunchboxes & tote bags
T-shirts, sweaters, and hoodies for teachers, students, & staff
Tumblers, mugs, wine glasses (teacher fuel, let’s be real)
Flags and Doormats
Journals, planners, phone cases
Dorm decor: custom blankets, posters, doormats, LED signs
First apartment gifts (like someone moving out of the dorms or moving out of their home for the first time): cutting boards, kitchen towels, personalized coasters, candles
REMEMBER: Don’t just list “teacher t-shirt” and call it a day. Niche down. Get Specific. Think “preschool teacher hoodie,” “dance teacher tote bag,” or “school counselor coffee mug.” The more specific, the better.
And college kids? They’re all about vibe. Design products they’ll want to show off on TikTok or post on their story: aesthetic dorm decor, funny sayings, and gifts they’ll want from mom before they head out.
Bottom line? If you’re only thinking backpacks and apples—you’re leaving money on the table. Think wider. Think emotional. Think transitional life moments. Then get those listings UP.
4) TRAVEL: Sun’s Out, Shops Out ☀️✈️
Summertime = travel time. The second the weather warms up, people are OUT AND ABOUT. Families are packing up the car, couples are jet-setting, and friend groups are group trips. Whether it’s the beach, the mountains, the lake, or a cruise, people are ready to spend, make memories, and… yep, buy cute stuff for the ‘Gram and Tiktok.
So if your shop isn’t capitalizing on the travel niche, you’re seriously missing out on one of the most fun (and profitable) markets of the summer.
1) Hot Travel Niches to Tap Into:
Family vacation gifts/matching outfits
RV life & camping families
Lake house and beach house decor, outfits
Summer camp gear & gifts
Family reunion shirts and gifts
Hiking, boating, fishing, road trip gear
Destination-specific apparel (but keep it generic—“family beach trip 2025” is perfect)
Cruise gifts, especially matching family cruise shirts or fun events like bachelorette trip
2) Top Products That Sell:
Matching group shirts (perfect for families or bachelorette weekends like I said above)
Tank tops, hoodies & lightweight sweaters (cool mornings & beach nights and yes, sweaters and hoodies sell in summer!)
Personalized towels, beach blankets, weekender bags
Tumblers, mugs, koozies, and travel wine cups (because yes, even in the woods, the drinks are flowing)
Tote bags and hats of ANY kind
Luggage tags, passport covers, travel journals, and itinerary templates (hello digital product $$$!)
RV decor, cabin signs, or printable camping checklists
3) Digital Products? uhhhhh, YES PLEASE.
Don’t sleep on creating:
Travel planners
Budget trackers
Packing list printables
Editable group itineraries (perfect for group trips, girls' weekends, and reunions)
“We’re Outta Here” printable signs or countdown calendars
Now Let’s Talk Legal Realness for a Hot Minute:
You might be tempted to design “Disney family trip 2025” shirts or “Hogwarts squad vacation” hats. DO. NOT. DO. IT
I get it—people LOVE those destinations, movies, and places. But guess who else loves them?
Lawyers. Lawyers with bots. Lawyers with full-time jobs finding your listings and slapping you with takedown notices.
So here’s the rule: No Disney. No Universal. No Harry Potter. No Taylor Swift. No Celebrities. No TV/Movie quotes. No Song Lyrics. NO EXCEPTIONS. You risk having your listings removed, your shop shut down, and worst case scenario, you get sued. So please for the love of God, if you take ANYTHING away from this post, DO NOT INFRINGE on ANY TRADEMARKED OR COPYRIGHTED WORKS!
Soooo what do I do instead??? Do a Smart Workaround!
Make it about the family or the vibe, not the brand. Try:
“Most Magical Family Trip 2025”
“Making Core Memories”
“Adventure Crew”
“Vacation Vibes Activated”
“My Wife is My favorite Villian”
“Princess Security Team” (gift for dad/uncles if their are a lot of daughters/nieces of a trip).
Remember (lets bring it back to the top here): When people are traveling, they want to feel excited, connected, and EXTRA when they travel. So give them the gear, the vibe, and the matching outfits to make those memories even better. You’ll be cashing in while they’re posting beach pics and tagging you in their vacay reels. Win-win.
So go on—design for the travelers, the wanderers, the beach bums, the mountain climbers, and the lake lovers. It’s time to take your sales on a trip too. Just don’t infringe on trademarked and copyrighted works!
Conclusion
Phew! I think that covers all the points I wanted to hit. Do not panic if your sales drop a tiny bit at the start of summer. This is when you will have the opportunity to build out your shop with fun summer related items and to get ready for Fall and Christmas!
