The 5 Best Print on Demand Companies I Use to Run a 6-Figure Business

Well Hello there my fellow creative entrepreneurs!

When I jumped into the Print on Demand world, I had one goal: make real money, have the freedom to work on my schedule, and never, ever deal with packing orders on my living room floor. Spoiler alert — I made it happen. And the secret? Partnering with the right POD platforms that actually do their job.

But here’s the deal: not all POD companies are created equal. Some are gold, and some… well some are just an absolute hot mess. After testing just about every POD company under the sun, I’ve narrowed it down to the five platforms that now run 95% of my 6-figure business. They’re reliable, high-quality, beginner-friendly — and they make it way easier to run a shop that actually makes sales.

So in this post, I’m spilling the tea on which Print on Demand companies are actually worth your time. These are the ones I recommend to my students, the ones I use myself, and the ones that’ll save you from a whole lot of frustration. Let’s dive in, because I’ve already made the mistakes — and you don’t need to.

But before we kick this thing off, let me introduce myself!

Hey there, I am Shay Lynn! I am a top 1% Etsy Seller, am the proud owner of a multi-six figure Print on Demand and Etsy Business, and creator of the Print on Demand Playbook. In my first year, I did $250,000 in sales running my very own Print on Demand and Etsy business. Check it out 👇👇👇

It’s safe to say I definitely know a thing or 2 (or 5 million at this point haha) about Print on Demand and Etsy 😉. I love helping fellow entrepreneurs and POD owners out and want to help you grow your own business!

So, without further ado, let’s dive on in and let me tell you all about my favorite Print on Demand companies!

1. Printify – The MVP

Printify is, without a doubt, the platform I use the most — and honestly, it deserves the crown. Their product catalog is stacked with all the bestselling items I love to sell: tumblers, tote bags, blankets, sweaters, hoodies, candles, journals, towels, puzzles, hats, mugs, posters, canvas prints, phone cases, and so much more. Whether I’m creating seasonal gifts or evergreen bestsellers, Printify always has something new to test and add to my shop.

What really makes Printify shine is their network of print providers — and yes, I’ve worked with a bunch of them. They’ve all been super easy to work with, and shipping times? Way faster than I expected. Many products go out in just a few days, even during peak seasons.

And the cherry on top? Printify lets you add branded inserts, custom gift messages, and even branded shipping labels, which is huge if you're trying to grow a legit brand that stands out. Combine all of that with Printify Premium (where you get deep discounts on product costs), and this platform becomes a no-brainer if you're ready to scale.

Plus — and this is a big one — their customer service slaps. If something ever goes wrong (it happens in POD), they make it right. Quick, no fuss, no back-and-forth. That kind of support gives me peace of mind and keeps my customers happy.

This platform is where I started — and it's still where I build the bulk of my business.

2. Printful – Unique and Reliable

Printful literally brings a level of quality and consistency that’s honestly tough to beat. Unlike a lot of other POD platforms, Printful manufactures and fulfills their own products — meaning you’re not relying on third-party vendors. This honestly makes everything feel so streamlined, professional, and super controlled from start to finish when designing products

What really sets them apart, though, is their exclusive product catalog. Printful offers unique items you won’t find on other platforms — and those are gold when you want your shop to stand out. I’m talking corduroy hats (which are so freaking cute), pet products, “Vans”esque- slip on shoes, and one of my personal faves — crossbody bags. They even carry really cool notepads (and I don’t mean journals, actual notepads), which are surprisingly hard to find in the POD world.

But the real star of the show is their embroidery options. Printful makes embroidery super easy, even for beginners. They offer tons of exclusive embroidered products you won’t find anywhere else, and their platform includes clear, easy-to-follow guidelines to make sure your designs fit perfectly. Whether it’s hats, hoodies, or totes — the stitch quality and color selection is seriously impressive.

If you're looking for elevated, premium items that bring a more curated, boutique vibe to your shop — Printful is absolutely the one to watch. I love using them when I want something polished, stylish, and high-impact right out of the box.

3. Teelaunch – Niche-Specific and Gift-Ready

Teelaunch is one of those Print on Demand platforms that doesn’t always get the attention it deserves — but trust me, it’s a hidden gem. If your shop leans into gifting, sports, hobbies, or novelty items, this is the platform you’ll want in your back pocket!

They offer a wide range of unique, niche-specific products that are hard to find elsewhere. I’m talking metal prints, custom sports equipment (yes — think printed basketballs, golf balls, and even gear bags), golf accessories, and even awesome planter pots that print beautifully and make amazing home or housewarming gifts. They’ve also got custom name jewelry that’s super on trend and a fun way to expand into personalized products without needing a full jewelry setup. Teelaunch just has a way of making your product catalog look different but in the best way possible.

What I love most is that they fill in the gaps. When I can’t find a specific product on Printify or Printful, or I’m looking for something a little more outside the box, Teelaunch almost always has a solution. Their catalog is ideal if you’re trying to build a shop around thoughtful, functional gift items or want to offer something your Etsy competition isn’t already selling.

Their interface is slightly different from what you may be used to on other platforms, but it’s still very beginner-friendly. Once you get the hang of it, it's simple to use and integrates smoothly with your store. Teelaunch is perfect for sellers who want to tap into niche audiences and stand out with products that surprise and delight. It’s definitely a platform I reach for when I’m looking to add something fun and fresh to my shop.

4. OwnPrint – Real POD Jewelry (the Legal Way)

If you’ve been thinking about selling personalized jewelry on Etsy, stop what you’re doing — because this one’s a total game-changer. OwnPrint is one of the only Print on Demand platforms that actually lets you sell legit, POD AND ETSY compliant custom jewelry — not just slap a pre-made necklace into a box with a cute card insert (which, by the way, is a huge no-no if you’re not also designing the jewelry itself).

Here’s the deal: Etsy’s Print on Demand policies require you to have a hand in the creation of the actual jewelry product you’re selling. And simply designing the message card that goes inside the box? That doesn't count. Unfortunately, A LOT of sellers get super bad advice online or simply don’t know that information and risk their shops getting shut down (defintely seen it happen to people) without realizing it. OwnPrint eliminates that risk by allowing you to actually customize the jewelry itself. Whether it’s names, coordinates, dates, or engraved messages — you get to be part of the design process while still keeping it fully hands-off and automated.

The products themselves are beautiful and emotional — which makes them perfect for high-converting Etsy niches like weddings, anniversaries, memorials, and thoughtful gifts. Think: engraved bar necklaces, handwriting designs, pet memorials, and more. These are the kinds of products that people are willing to spend more on because they hold meaning to them.

What I also love is how easy the platform is to use. You don’t need any special design skills — OwnPrint walks you through how to format your customizations, and the process is super smooth. Everything is produced and shipped for you, but you are still involved in the creative process — which keeps it 100% Etsy-compliant and brand-friendly.

Bottom line: if you’ve ever wanted to sell jewelry but didn’t know how to do it without physically making it yourself, OwnPrint is your answer. It gives you all the creative flexibility without the legal gray areas — and the end result? Stunning, sentimental products that sell like crazy.

5. Gooten – The Dark Horse That Delivers

Gooten might not be the loudest name in the Print on Demand space, but don’t let that fool you — it’s one of the most reliable, quietly powerful platforms I’ve worked with. It’s the underdog that shows up, performs like a pro, and constantly surprises you in the best way. Over time, it’s absolutely earned its place in my top POD lineup.

Where Gooten truly stands out is in their unique, hard-to-find product selection. When I need something niche or just different from the typical mugs and tees, this is where I go. They offer some seriously fun and flexible options like adorable baby products (think bibs and crib sheets), fabric by the yard for crafters and quilters, cloth napkins that elevate any kitchen or table setup, and custom vinyl banners that are perfect for events, pop-ups, or even branding your small biz.

One of my absolute favorite finds? Their acrylic prints — sleek, modern, and seriously high-end looking. They’re perfect for home decor shops or anyone selling bold, statement art.

Their fulfillment process is quick and consistent, which is huge in this space. Even during busy seasons, Gooten has kept up with demand without sacrificing quality. I’ve had great experiences with their turnaround times, and the product quality has been super reliable across the board.

And let’s talk backend: their dashboard is clean, intuitive, and gives you full control over SKUs, variants, and order tracking — something that becomes more important as your shop starts growing. It keeps everything organized and easy to manage, even if you’re juggling multiple product types and suppliers.

While Gooten may not be the platform most people start with, it’s a powerful option when you’re ready to expand your offerings and cater to more specific niches. It’s the dark horse that truly delivers — with quality, speed, and unique products you won’t find just anywhere.
